Sharolyn D. Lofton, Founder/President
Sharolyn D. Lofton is a person that not only recognizes problems in her community but also looks for solutions. When there are no local resources available, she takes the time to connect with and develop relationships with others who have a strong knowledge base and together they build solutions. Sharolyn has so many accomplishments all geared toward the building of others. She is a small business owner that has taught multiple unemployed or underemployed to work for themselves or supplement their income by training them in sales/marketing, website development, and completion of LLC paperwork to make their businesses official. She annually participates with non-profit agencies to raise money and spear heads community donation drives to provide needed resources to various agencies. She has even extended her efforts to bringing awareness to mental health. An avid behind the scenes worker, Sharolyn strives daily to become the change she'd like to see in the world.
Shonntaé D. McGlothin, Vice President
Shonntaé McGlothin has a wide range of experience in youth and mental health treatment and awareness within several organizations throughout his career. Standing in the gap for youth adolescent ages of 13 to 17 with substance abuse issues he provided morning day by day group meetings to start the day off in a positive direction. He aided in helping the youth develop a solid recovery program that included relapse prevention planning and strong support systems through group and individual counseling, education, and experiential group therapy. Shonntaé also had the opportunity to assist adults with co-occurring disorders of substance use and mental illness referred by the criminal justice system at Volunteers of America where high-quality inpatient drug and alcohol treatment services were provided.
Laura Brown, Advisory Board Member
Laura Brown is a practicing Nurse Practitioner. As a health care provider Laura has seen how lack of insurance can affect the quality of care and can delay important treatments essential to living a healthy lifestyle. She understands the significance of health and wellness education and the difference health equity awareness can make in our communities. A Florence Nightingale award recipient, Laura graduated from East Texas Baptist University in 2012 with a BSN. Her times spent as a Registered Nurse was a balance between Progressive Care at a level 1 Hospital, home health, dialysis and case management. In 2017, Laura received her MSN at the University of Texas Arlington with the focus in family practice.
Paula Blake, Secretary/Treasurer
Paula Blake is one who is very passionate about traveling and giving back to the community. She has 30 plus years as an experienced professional and is the small business owner of Travel with Kry LLC. She also serves as the treasurer and secretary in several organizations. Paula enjoys being able to assist clients with meeting their goals and being a pillar in the community by helping families in need.
